Par Ferro Coatings (P) Ltd: An Excellent Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder Coating Supplier.
Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder Coating is abbreviated as FBE Powder Coating. It is
an epoxy resin/ modified epoxy resin based product which when applied on heated
MS/ Ductile Iron/ Cast Iron made pipes, valves, Fittings, TMT Bars forms a coating
having Hydrophobicity and chemical bonds with high bond dissociation energy. The
resultant coating has high corrosion resistance as is evident from its superior
resistance to cathodic disbondment. Further the coating has low chloride
permeability and Biofilm formation is also less thus making it suitable for TMT /
Rebar Coating and Coating of Drinking water pipes lines, valves, fittings etc.
FBE Powder Coating is different from Conventional Powder Coating in many
respects. Based on FBE Coatings superior quality it is recommended for specific end
uses.
Ideal Application of Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder Coating:
Thermoplastic and Thermoset are the two types of powder coating with different curing
methods and properties.
Thermoplastic is used to coat that melts and flows when heat is given. The chemical of the
material remains the same after they are solidified. There is a good impact on the finished
product. Moreover, there is no requirement for a curing cycle. In place of that, the proper
time is required for the coating to melt on the surface. It is soft and remelts when the objects
are at high temperature as they don't go curing. They do require a thicker millage when
compared to thermoset powder casting.
During curing, thermoset powder coatings experience an irreversible chemical change that
results in a long-lasting, hardened coating. Thermoset coatings still melt and flow when
heated, but because of cross-linking, they differ chemically from the parent resin. Since the
alterations after curing are permanent, this coating won't melt again in high temperatures. In
comparison to thermoplastics, it provides superior scratch resistance. Thermoplastic powder
coatings can create thinner, more aesthetically attractive films than some thermoplastics.
However, it can fracture or become brittle if utilised in thick layers.
What are the Advantages?
Very high long term chemical resistance.
High mechanical strength.
High penetration resistance
High abrasion resistance.
Low chloride permeability.
Low extent of Biofilm formation in contact with water.
No impact on quality of Drinking water.
